Character Profile
ooc: Roleplayed by: Kristie Kay Activity: High
ic: Name: Alice Pleasance Liddell Gender: Female Age: 19 Species: Human Home World: Earth Allegiance: Leader of Alice’s Rebels.
Hobbies:- Playing chess (she gets really into the game. Watch out)
- Reading (Sappy romance novels ftw)
- Fencing (She’s spectacular and could most likely kick your ass)
- Socializing (She’s a bit of a chatterbox)
- Daydreaming (A hobby/trait that has been with her since childhood)
- Arguing with the Hatter (you’d think it was a damn hobby, she’s at it so much)
Personality: Alice is definitely one of the most imaginative people in Wonderland, if not the most. She smiles often, if not constantly. She’s a polite young lady but loves nonsense. It used to bother her when she was younger, but now acting silly is one of her favorite things. It’s a bit funny, but her immaturity seems to have dwindled as she’s grown older when it comes to her behavior. She curses, plays with her food, and dare I say it, the girl wears pants (OhmyGod). However, that detail has become much more acceptable within the last war-ragged years.
She is easily agitated, however, despite her overall cheerful demeanor. Alice does not like seeing someone insulted, or be insulted herself, and will not stand for it. She is a quick thinker (though has a quick temper), and is even quicker to stand up for herself and others and speak her mind. Alice is also rather stubborn, and it is rather hard to tell her ‘no’ when she really wants something.
Quick witted and sassy, she’s usually the one who wins arguments. Miss Liddell is a social butterfly, and does not like staying in one spot for too long without meeting someone new, or talking to someone she hasn’t spoken too in a while. But, she does like her quiet time, and one of her favorite things to do is just relax and read a book, either by herself or with a friend.
When she gets seriously angry, it’s all down to business. No more stubborn, spoiled girl-esque foot stompings. She is the leader of the entire army of rebels. She knows how to handle her emotions when she needs to. She’s protective of the men and women in her army, as well as the civilians she’s trying so hard to save. Many of her soldiers don’t like the idea, but she would give her live to save any one of them. She’s just heroic like that.
And damn, is she clever. She can lie and weave her way out or into any situation. She’s an expert at manipulating, a valuable skill she learned and perfected from the Hatter himself. She also knows just about every riddle in the book, save that one…damnable raven and writing desk one. She hates that riddle.
Physical Appearance: Alice is slim, stands about 5’7”, and is muscle toned. Her complexion was once pale, though years in Wonderland and in the sun have darkened her a little, and her skin is tinted rosy. Her hair is golden blonde, seemingly tinted a vibrant pink, and reaches her middle back (it’s rarely tangled and never frizzy or unkempt, though she does often keep part of it up in an odd sort of bun).
She has three scars, one being a thin white line on her left cheek, the second a thicker and deeper line just above her elbow on the inside of her right arm, and the third being a small mark on the base of her neck where a knife was held against it. Her shoulders are always squared, her posture is perfect, and she walks with her chin held high, much like a princess (though she comes off more as confident, not arrogant).
Unlike when she was living on Earth, Alice has taken a liking to wearing men’s clothing, as they are more comfortable and she can move more easily in them. As time wore on she grew into her own liking, wearing bright colors and odd pieces. While traveling about Wonderland, she has wears her hair tied up, and wears a hooded cloak around her shoulders, and usually wears the hood up. Though she still enjoys wearing dresses when she can, because she thinks twirling in them is just fun.
History: Alice Pleasance Liddell was born on May 4th, 1852. She grew up with three older siblings, and six younger, and all of them quite different from her. She didn’t feel like reading the books her parents and tutors suggested, as they were boring and had no pictures in them. But her creative and imaginative mind was ignored and scolded, much to young Alice’s dismay.
When she was twelve years old, she came to Wonderland for the first time. She had followed a mysterious white rabbit who was wearing a coat and constantly glancing at a large pocket watch into a rabbit hole, where she tumbled down into a different world. She landed right in the Pool of Tears, then only a puddle, and quickly swam to shore, as her dress made her heavy and she didn’t want to sink to the bottom of the extremely deep little pond.
Confused, she wandered through the forest that surrounded the pool, baffled that giant mushrooms took the place of trees. It was calm and peaceful in the forest then, with no need to worry about getting lost, as there were paths everywhere that led out of the forest, and no monsters hid in the underbrush waiting to attack. After some curious wandering, she came to a mushroom that had its cap lower to the ground than the rest, and instead of the tanish brown shade, the top was a bright red with large white spots on it. And also, atop this mushroom sat a very large blue caterpillar, whom was smoking a hookah.
The Caterpillar didn’t tell her much about where she was, but she did find out that eating a certain kind of mushroom turned her either very big, or very small.
She wandered away from the Caterpillar and came across a train station. The conductor was friendly, and told her he’d take her to a place called Ace Town, free of charge. The train ride took less than an hour, and Alice thanked the conductor when she got off the locomotive.
Ace Town was clean, tidy, and very cheerful. Everyone said hello to her, even some of the animals that walked the street. She was amazed to see birds chatting up on the lamp posts, dogs telling their human friends about the wonders of bacon, and a tiger talking to a man with a monocle about the weather. She also saw a large brown rabbit with enormous ears sticking straight up. He was wearing a jacket and a bow tie, and she wondered if he might be related to the white rabbit she had followed. So she walked after the rabbit, having to run to keep up with his speedy hopping, and eventually he left the town all together, turning down a small and very well hidden narrow road into green forest.
He disappeared into an tall, open wrought iron gate overgrown with ivy, and Alice followed slowly behind, not wanting to intrude. Bug, the twelve-year-old’s curiosity got the better of her, and she entered the large and overgrown front yard. The sound of music and loud voices drew her attention to the back of the house, and she walked through the tall grass and peeked around to the back yard. There was a large table, able to seat at least thirty, and each chair was different. Tea pots, tea cups, and silverware were strewn about the table, each one different. At one end of the table sat a man with an enormously large top hat on his head, it was dark green, and there was a white tag hanging from the brim.
They told her there was not enough room at this tea party, when there obviously was, and after some arguing and logic thrown at them by Alice, they allowed her, grudgingly to join them, although she never got a single drop of tea.
After the odd tea party, she ventured farther into Wonderland, meeting such oddities like the Twins, TweeldeDee and TweeldeDum, the Cheshire Cat, Card Guards, and the Queen herself, whom she played a croquet game with.
She awoke, suddenly, after making the Queen angry enough to send her Card Guards to chase her about Wonderland. A regular person might think it had all been just a dream. But Alice knew that Wonderland was real.
Whenever she could, she would go back to that rabbit hole, and she would visit Wonderland, and strong friendships between her and many of the Wonderlanders developed. She grew to love Wonderland like a home, and she was loved by almost all of its people (the Queen disliked her, though).
After a while though, instead of waking up from Wonderland, she would have to venture all the way back to the Pool of Tears to go home, and either jump into the Pool, and turn up who knows where (she ended up appearing back on Earth in Canada, once), or use the mirror and arrive back home.
When she was fifteen, she decided to make Wonderland her permanent home. She simply did not go back to the Pool. Wonderland was happy, for a time. But then something changed. For one reason or another, the Queen turned from merely irritating to malevolent and dangerous. She used her power and her Card Guard armies to take a firm hold over Wonderland. Her once beautiful white and red castle turning dark, grimy, very sinister. The towers stretched upwards, turning thin and pointed, the hearts melting downwards until only spires were seen.
Alice, not one to be bossed around, especially by the Queen, stood up to her. In reply, the Queen sent a Card Guard to the Mad Hatter’s home, one of Alice’s closest friends, to kill him as a warning and an example. The Hatter was able to defend himself, and the assassin was the one who lost his life.
Outraged and horrified, Alice and her friends vanished from the Queen’s eye with her fellow allies and went into hiding, plotting against the Queen.
Attacks, rescues, liberating some of the people on the outer edge of Wonderland… Alice led everything. And the people of Wonderland loved her; even those who were yet to be helped by her in the towns closer to the Queen’s castle, where Card Guards were more in numbers.
She quickly learned how to fight with a blade, after many difficult and rigorous lessons from the Mad Hatter, whom had always been a bit of a fencing champion. So now she was able to lead, and fight. She’s gotten a few scars to prove how tough she is, the most prominent one being a thin white line across her left cheek. Her two other scars are thicker, deeper line just above the elbow on the inside of her right arm, and a small mark near the base of her neck where a knife was pressed against her throat by an assassin, whom was then clobbered mercilessly by the Very Angry Hatter a moment later.
But, one day, the day after her eighteenth birthday, Alice vanished. And she has been missing for more than a year now, and Wonderland is not doing so well without their Hero to help them. Her army, Alice’s Rebels, have been searching frantically for her, but it seems as if she has slipped off the very face of Wonderland itself…
